Hadlow WI

Thought for the Month

In life -

it's not where you go,

it's who you travel with.

A New Year and time to renew our membership and it was great to see so many of our members back again for another exciting year of events, talks and activities.

The WI has an unrivaled reputation as a voice of reason, integrity and intelligence on issues that matter to women and their communities. Climate change, food waste, packaging, violence against women, fair trade and support for post offices and rural services are just some of the issues on the WIs campaigning agenda. The WI empowers members to turn their concerns into campaigns and six issues have been developed by members into resolutions for consideration in 2017. We debated these in 6 discussion groups and key points were fed back to the members who then had the opportunity to vote for the resolution that was of greatest concern to them. Hadlow WI votes will feed into West Kent Federation and onwards to the National Federation AGM in June.

After voting we were entertained by a young magician who mesmerised us with his tricks. A great start to the new year!
