Hadlow WI

Thought for the Month

In life -

it's not where you go,

it's who you travel with.

Our president welcomed 27 members, 1 visitor, George Wildridge, our speaker, and his wife to the meeting . The subject of out talk this evening was about how to research and start your Family Tree. George took us through his own experience of researching his family tree and in that way, informed us how to approach this interesting subject. He gave us a few pointers on which websites were best to use and how birth and marriage certificates were very useful in confirming who your ancestors are and interestingly, what they did for a living, as occupations are listed on them too.

Hadlow WI was reformed in 2010 and meets on the third Tuesday of every month. Most meetings are held at the Old School Hall in the centre of the village. Occasionally there are outings in the summer when we might go on a walk or a visit.
